Words are powerful!

We all know thoughts are things. Well, words have power too! (I plan to post about the new anthology Unraveling the Spreading Cloth of Time tomorrow! These words and stories are powerful…)

Read this about a remarkable woman, Laurel Airica. Laurel is a ‘word wizard, a true master of  the power of language and words, and shares with us some of her deep understanding of word magic as well as giving us a poem for this season of renewal and rebirth.

Laurel’s website is LaurelAirica.com.  She also offers the WordMagic Newsletter, which is free and a real pleasure. To get on her list, click  here.

Is the English Language Talking Back to Us?

I believe that it is – and that homonyms are Freudian slips of the cultural unconscious. I also believe that the four pairs of homonyms cited above reveal the overt justification and underlying motivation for the ultimate oxyMoron, the so-called Holy War.

So consider this:  If the Word creates the World – as its spelling indicates that it does – and if ‘Life and death are in the power of the tongue’ as stated in Scriptures, then now is clearly the time for all of us to throw off the yoke of bad ideas many of which are actually embedded in English language symbols and sounds and affirmed each time we speak our mind. Take, for instance, this simple and ordinary exchange:

Hell-O    Good Mourning    Have a Good Weak

Enjoy the Weak End     Make Sure you Get DeepRest
